Youtube Videos

So after recording a series of "let's play" youtube videos for Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone for PC, I've got about 9 or 10 left to upload onto youtube. As for the next game to do, I've still got a lot of Aquanox videos to do; I have one of those videos to upload. I've also started a flash game called Papa Louie which I started a while back - I have two videos for that.

I was wondering what to do for the next load of uploads - the next HP game, Drome Racers or something else? They'd all be on PC, send any ideas to me on twitter - @Jim_Leeder or comment on this post.

Friday Uni Modules

So I do two other completely different modules on Fridays. These are Web Design and E-Business.

Web Design teaches us HTML5, CSS3 and PHP, as well as a bit of AJAX. We learnt XHTML and CSS last year, so we just have to quickly learn the differences between XHTML and HTML5, and CSS and CSS3. But I don't think there are many. The first bit of assesment seems easy enough as we just have to make a page look like the given image using CSS, which is harder than it looks. But its still good. Web Design is the sort of thing UI want to work in after uni ideally. Otherwise its working for a business in IT.

E-Business looks like we have to team up in pairs and create a blog for the food industry. I don't know what to do for it yet properly but I know we have to make an e-commerce site. Ideally I'll do this in Wordpress rather than Blogger as it'll give more options, but there may be something different we need to use.

Year Two Semester Two Day One

So after yesterday's lessons I can say what two of my modules are about. More or less. We only had introductory lessons.

"Design methods and technology project" looks to be a practical unit where we get in groups and complete a project. We'll sort out the finances, objectives, feasibility analysis and everything else for the project I think then give a presentation on the whole thing at the end. This looks to be a 10 minute one which is a bit daunting, but at least its as a group rather than on my own. Then theres a 2500 report to write at the end which should be hard, but good enough to get a good mark on.

"Project Management and Quality Assurance" is more like the theory side of the other module. Its more about how projects are managed, rather than managing a project itself.

I have two more modules on Friday - Web Design and E-Business. These are self explantory really, but I might as well write about them again on here when the day has been done!

Uni Semester Two

The new semester starts officially for me tomorrow. My first lesson is 9 o clock and its a module called "Design Methods and Technology" which I don't know what it is. However I know it should be an IT unit, and at least both the lectures and tutorials are by the same person rather than two people. Then later on during the day I have "Project Management and Quality Assurance" which is taught by two people. No idea what that is, but it sounds like some sort of business unit, though its taught by the IT lecturers. I'll post here again after the lessons tomorrow!
